Position Summary:
The Industrial Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of industrial systems and equipment, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components. This role requires a well-rounded technician with strong skills in both mechanical and electrical trades, supporting plant uptime, productivity, and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform diagnostics and repairs on production equipment including motors, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, valves, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including 3-phase power, control circuits, sensors, PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.), and VFDs.
Conduct routine and preventive maintenance tasks on machinery, utilities, and facility systems.
Interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to perform repairs and installations.
Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and systems.
Maintain detailed and accurate maintenance records via CMMS or manual logs.
Follow all safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE, and OSHA compliance.
Communicate effectively with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to resolve equipment issues.
Fabricate and weld parts as needed to support equipment repair or modification.
Support facility systems such as HVAC, compressed air, steam, and lighting.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or related field .
4+ years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing maintenance role with both electrical and mechanical responsibilities.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems (bearings, chains, belts, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulics).
Proven experience with industrial electrical systems (control panels, PLCs, sensors, motor controls, 480V 3-phase power).
Welding, fabrication, and machining experience highly desirable.
Familiarity with CMMS and basic computer literacy.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or respond to on-call issues as needed.
Physical ability to lift 50 lbs., work in elevated areas, and in confined spaces.
