Position Overview

Hamady Middle/High School is seeking a highly professional and service-oriented

Lead Secretary

to manage the daily operations of the school office. This role is central to creating a welcoming environment for students, staff, parents, and the community. Primary Responsibilities Oversee front office operations and serve as the principal's administrative assistant Provide clerical support to the guidance office, social workers, and athletics as needed Support clerical staff within the building Maintain accurate student records, attendance, and staff payroll documentation Perform high-volume, accurate data entry using school systems (e.g., Synergy, Frontline) Coordinate substitute coverage and staff scheduling (RedRover) Prepare correspondence, reports, and official documents Act as liaison between school, district offices, families, and community partners Ensure compliance with district policies and pupil accounting requirements Provide outstanding customer service to all stakeholders, including students, parents, and visitors Uphold confidentiality and professionalism at all times Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED (Associate's degree preferred) Minimum of 3 years of secretarial experience, preferably in a school setting Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.) Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment Demonstrated commitment to customer service excellence Experience with school systems such as Synergy, MICR, Frontline, and RedRover is a plus Punctuality and good attendance are requirements the position High accuracy and attention to detail in data entry and record keeping Benefits Competitive hourly wage per WHESPA contract Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid holidays and vacation time Retirement plan through Michigan Office of Retirement Services Professional development opportunities Supportive school community Application Instructions Candidates may apply by selecting the Apply link and completing the online application and uploading a resume, include (3) professional references with email contact information.
