Lead Network Engineer - Full Time Direct hire
Location: Washington, DC, 20220 (Hybrid) Duration: Direct hire - Full Time Job Description: Terms of Employment: This position is hybrid. Candidates must be comfortable working onsite three days per week in Washington, DC (20220). Overview & Responsibilities: This leadership role is responsible for the strategic planning, design, and installation of complex network equipment, leveraging deep expertise in engineering, programming, and sophisticated network tools. The incumbent will lead a team of network engineers, providing technical guidance and oversight for data network hardware and software, including Cisco Routers, Firewalls, Switches, ThousandEyes, DNAC (Cisco DNA Center), Stealthwatch (Cisco Secure Analytics), and Identity Services Engine (ISE). Key responsibilities include: Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to the network engineering team, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of network services. Coordinate the planning, design, and installation of network equipment. Participate in system conceptual design and document design concepts. Install new hardware, systems, and software for networks. Design, create, and build network services, equipment, and devices. Generate system-level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures. Monitor system performance and implement performance tuning. Review test plans/procedures, ensure they meet contractual requirements, and participate in the testing process. Required Skills & Experience: Bachelor's degree and 15+ years of network engineering experience. Extensive experience in leading and managing network engineering teams. Practical skills, experience, and training in designing, configuring, upgrading, deploying, monitoring, troubleshooting, and patching data network hardware and software, including Cisco Routers, Firewalls, Switches, ThousandEyes, DNAC (Cisco DNA Center), Stealthwatch (Cisco Secure Analytics), and Identity Services Engine (ISE). Able to acquire Public Trust clearance. Preferred Skills & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or a relevant field.
