Overview:

Join a dedicated healthcare team as an Ambulatory Transporter, responsible for safely and efficiently moving patients, wheelchairs, stretchers, and traction equipment between nursing units and ancillary departments. This role ensures the proper use and maintenance of transport equipment while supporting patient care philosophies.

Key Responsibilities:

Accurately transport patients of all ages, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, bariatric, and geriatric populations. Safely maneuver wheelchairs and stretchers, including post-mortem transport. Maintain and clean transport equipment to ensure operability. Demonstrate exemplary customer service and problem-solving skills while responding promptly to dynamic situations.

Education & Certifications:

Must hold current CPR certification for Healthcare Providers. Completion of Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) training and knowledge of restraints, seclusion, and safety devices are required. Competency in regulating flow meters on E-Cylinders is essential.

Experience & Requirements:

At least one year of experience in patient transportation services preferred, ideally within a hospital setting. Ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting and assume awkward positions as needed. Must be able to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods. Strong communication skills, including speech, visual, and auditory acuity, are necessary for effective interaction. Must complete mandatory competencies within a 90-day probationary period.

Work Environment:

This position involves movement throughout a regional medical center and associated buildings in the Southeastern United States. The role may involve contact with blood or bodily fluids, requiring adherence to safety protocols.
