Respiratory Therapist Travel Assignment – South Dakota General Facility Information Hospital Beds: 260–280

Daily Census: 250–260

Scrub Color: Pewter

Free Parking: Yes

Traveler Requirements Minimum Experience: 2 years (1 year may be considered with strong experience and manager review)

First-Time Travelers: Accepted upon manager review

Patient Population Types of Care:

Highly Progressive/Acute Respiratory Care

Adult, Pediatric, and Neonatal Critical Care

General Inpatient Respiratory Care

NICU Coverage: Yes, if required by requisition (NRP certification required)

Required Certifications & Licensure RRT required (CRT may be considered based on experience)

South Dakota RCP License (via SDBMOE.gov) – must be obtained before submission (process takes ~30 days)

BLS & ACLS

NRP if covering NICU

Education Requirement Associate’s Degree (AA)

Skills Required Critical Care

General Respiratory Care

Support Structure 24/7 Charge RT or Respiratory Clinical Specialist

Supervisors, Manager, and Director always available

Technology & Equipment Charting System: EPIC (experience required)

Medication Dispensing: Omnicell

Ventilators: Draeger V500, Savina 300, 3100A Oscillator, Servo-I MRI, Hamilton C1

Other Equipment:

ResMed APAP, CPAP, Bi-level

Airvo2 High Flow Devices

Cough Assist

Incourage Vest

ABL90 Blood Gas Machines

IPV

Praxair iNO

Floating & Coverage Floating: Yes, within hospital & Emergency Department

No floating to other facilities unless hired for multi-facility role

Call Requirements Home Health:

Business: 0800–1730

Call: 1730–0800 (and weekends/holidays)

1am–6am, 3 days per week

Scheduling Weekends: Every other

Call: Based on facility and requisition needs

Holidays: Required if within contract dates

Time Off:

Up to 7 days off

Full week off requires contract extension
