Join Walmart's Global Technology and Platform team as a Software Engineer III, where you'll design and build scalable backend infrastructure for Walmart's Centralized Scaling platform. You'll work primarily with Go, Kubernetes, and cloud technologies to deliver high-impact, resilient solutions that proactively mitigate risk across Walmart's infrastructure. About Team: Building the right technology foundation for Infrastructure & platforms is vital to success at the scale of Walmart. Our team builds and maintains the foundational technologies that support the tech organization. Included in this are data platforms, enterprise architecture, DevOps, cloud computing, and infrastructure. All of these products and services are supported by scalable and powerful infrastructure, ensuring a secure and seamless employee and customer experience across stores, digital channels, and distribution centers. What you'll do: Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services to power Walmart's Centralized Scaling platform. Write clean, efficient code primarily in Go, and deploy services to Kubernetes-based environments. Build and enhance workflows to proactively detect and mitigate infrastructure risks. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, product managers, and architects to improve system performance and resilience. Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and performance tuning to maintain engineering excellence. What you'll bring: 3+ years of experience building and deploying scalable backend systems in production environments. Proficiency in Go (Golang), with a strong understanding of microservices architecture and API design. Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, GCP, or AWS). Familiarity with event-driven architectures using Kafka or similar messaging systems. A problem-solving mindset, strong debugging skills, and a passion for building resilient, high-availability systems. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment. Minimum Qualifications: Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
