The Wil Lou Gray Opportunity School is seeking a dependable, trustworthy, skilled professional cook to join our Food Service Department. Health Dental Paid annual leave, sick leave and holidays State Retirement Plan and Deferred Compensation Programs The Food Service Specialist III works under the Food Service Director preparing various styles of food using food service preparation equipment specializing in the use of technically advanced cook/chill food production methods, in compliance with department local, state, and federal guidelines. In this position, the Food Service Specialist III will:
Assists in the preparation and serving of all meals Weighs and measures ingredients to make sure that required amounts of food are prepared Serves portions of food that meet the nutritional requirements of the National School Food Service (NSFS) Program Cleans assigned section in the food service area to meet guidelines and standards set by DHEC Operates the following:
Mixer Can opener Meat slicer Dishwashing machines and ovens
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A high school diploma or equivalent and experience in quantity and quality cooking. Additional Comments
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
Ability to follow instructions, effectively communicate orally and in writing Ability to work with others Knowledge of safety practices relevant to that area of employment May require evenings and/or weekends May require employee to work during emergency situations. May require standing, bending, squatting, reaching, twisting, pushing, and pulling.
