Job Summary

Under the oversight of the Senior Manager of Marine and Technical Projects, oversees the warranty claim coordination between key project teams, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies, related to ship new builds and dry docks. The Marine Warranty Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all marine operations, equipment, and projects comply with established warranty terms, safety standards, and quality regulations.

Responsibilities

Oversee the administration and execution of warranty processes as specified in the DCL contractual agreements including but not limited to:

Shipbuilders

Dry dock Facilities

OEM subcontractors

Marine Systems and Vessels

Warranty Management:

Act as point of contact for key stakeholders regarding warranty related queries and issues

Support project teams with implementation of warranty terms and conditions during design, construction, and operations

Ensure compliance with warranty terms and conditions throughout the lifecycle of the project

Provide systems and warranty process training to key shore side stakeholders and shipboard personnel

Collaborate with authorized shipboard engineers to gather necessary information for claim processing

Conduct technical assessments and inspections of marine systems and equipment to determine validity of the warranty claim

Review, assess, and submit warranty claims, as specified in the agreed warranty guidelines by DCL/MTO, Shipyard, and Key OEM Subcontractors

Coordination for equipment requiring manufacturer or 3rd party support including but not limited to:

Remote trouble shooting support.

On site service needs

Equipment repair needs requiring vessels to offload

Partnering with DCL'S Distribution Center (warehouse), Shipyard, OEM, and Vessel for logistics

IRGS Stateroom requests

Provide support to DCL Project teams in resolving complex warranty issues

Reporting and Documentation:

Organize by weekly reviews with shipyard and key OEM subcontractors regarding the status of their claims and provide updates

Maintain accurate and detailed records of all warranty claims and related documentation (i.e. inspection reports, resolutions)

All warranty claim details are to be entered and tracked in DCL'S Marine and technical system of record, AMOS

Receive, reconcile, and record payment summaries from manufacturers.

Investigate overdue, unsettled and short-paid claims.

Oversee that all aspects of the warranty processes comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and internal policies including but not limited to:

Lloyd's Register (Ship National Administration Recognized Organization)

IMO Convention (International Maritime Organization)

SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea)

ISPS (International Ship & Port State)

USPH (United States Public Health)

ADA (American Disabilities Act)

WDW Risk Management

WDW Legal

DCL Marine and Technical Specifications

Identify potential risks or issues requiring immediate action to ensure compliance

Develop and overview DCL Warranty Systems and Technology (e.g. Warranty claims module and associated technology devices)

Assist Private Island Resort Team with warranty related guidance

Basic Qualifications:

8+ years of experience or equivalent related experience, in marine engineering, warranty management, or similar role within the offshore or marine industry

In-depth knowledge of marine systems, offshore installations, and related technologies

Skilled in project management and problem-solving with strong attention to detail

Shipyard and vessel life cycle management

Must have strong communication and administrative skills

Ability to support initiatives, documentation, and follow up via Microsoft office suite and company specific software applications.

Demonstrated ability to collaborate and coordinate effectively with both local and international contractors, including Disney Cruise Line internal teams or internal stakeholders

Travel domestically and internationally

Support travel will be required on an as needed, travel time will vary based on ship needs and could be approximately 35% to 45% of the requirements:

Based on where the vessel is located

Day Visits or full sailings

Traveling to support dry docks

Ability to work in restricted access spaces such as electric lockers and low and high height areas

Preferred qualifications

Standard international Marine warranty engineering certificates (i.e. Lloyd's Maritime Academy or International Maritime Academy)

Education

Bachelor's degree in marine engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
