Administrative Assistant To Workforce Development And Healthcare Programs

The primary functions of this position are to provide clerical and administrative support, student recruiting, coordination and organization of apprenticeship/intern partnerships and managing assigned non-credit functions for Northeast Alabama Community College (NACC) Workforce Development and healthcare programs. This position answers directly to the Dean of Workforce Development and Skills Training and must comply with all policies of the Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees, the Alabama Community College System, and Northeast Alabama Community College. Duties and responsibilities of this position include the following: Provide administrative assistance to NACC Workforce Development healthcare programs Create and maintain files, databases, and spreadsheets as requested and required for the programs Coordinate employment and appointment requests for assigned non-credit programs, including submission of all required paperwork, reference checks, follow-up with applicants, maintenance of records, timely reporting class cancellations to human resources, and other requirements as requested by supervisor and/or President Working with the Dean of Workforce and the Director of Healthcare, serve as the point of contact and liaison for intern and apprenticeship programs in workforce and healthcare Collect, compile, organize, and present data in a variety of formats for research and reports as directed by the President and/or Dean of Workforce Development and Skills Training Work with the Dean of Workforce Development and Skills Training and the Associate Dean of Healthcare Programs to promote programs and to assist in recruiting students Assist with outreach events for the College and Workforce Development Division, such as campus workshops for K-12 students and job fairs Conduct high school and community group visits to workforce and healthcare facilities Coordinate with healthcare program directors and instructors to assist with accreditation requirements; data collection and reports; special projects; and other tasks as assigned by the President and/or Dean of Workforce Development and Skills Training Assist with curricular schedules and payroll submissions for assigned programs to the Dean of Workforce Development and Skills Training Be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends, in support of outreach events and as needed to complete projects Have knowledge of and commitment to the philosophy and objectives of Northeast Alabama Community College Represent the College and its philosophy to prospective students and to others in the community Serve on various institutional standing committees Comply with all policies of the Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees, the Alabama Community College System, and Northeast Alabama Community College, and accrediting agencies Perform any other duties that may be assigned by supervisor and/or President Required knowledge, skills, and abilities: Proficient use of spreadsheets, databases, and word processing using such software as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, etc. is required Ability to work independently and with teams Ability to work professionally and courteously with employees, students, and visitors on campus Excellent keyboarding skills Excellent oral and written communication skills with proficiency in the English language Organizational skills to plan work to be completed within required time frame Ability to compose and prepare accurate reports, records, and correspondence Demonstrated skill in the organization and analysis of data Understanding of the mission and goals of Northeast Alabama Community College and the Alabama Community College System Education, training and/or experience: Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited institution required.
