Description
Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced and polished Waiter to join our service team at The Field Club of Greenwich. The ideal candidate will bring a refined sense of hospitality, attention to detail, and the ability to foster warm, long-term relationships with members and their guests. This role requires professionalism, discretion, and consistency in providing high-level dining experiences that reflect the traditions and standards of the Club.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide gracious, attentive, and personalized service to members and their guests, ensuring a welcoming and professional atmosphere. Develop familiarity with members' preferences and anticipate needs to create a seamless dining experience. Guide members through menus, offering informed recommendations on food, wine, and beverage pairings. Accurately take and deliver orders, ensuring special requests and dietary needs are communicated and executed with care. Maintain polished dining areas, ensuring all tables and service stations are prepared for service. Work collaboratively with fellow service staff, chefs, and management to ensure smooth, coordinated service. Handle member concerns or requests with the utmost professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion. Support and mentor newer staff to uphold club service standards. Uphold the traditions and culture of the Club through consistency, courtesy, and professionalism. Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of food, wine, and beverage service, including wine pairing and tableside etiquette. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive, professional relationships with members. Professional appearance, polished communication, and discretion. Ability to work calmly and efficiently in a fast-paced, member-focused environment. Commitment to teamwork, reliability, and exceeding service expectations. Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in a private club or member-only environment. Advanced knowledge of wine and spirits. Leadership qualities with the ability to mentor and train junior staff. Benefits:
