The food runner is the liaison between the server and kitchen helping to ensure that meals and other food items are correctly delivered to guests, including take-out orders. These individuals must maintain a strong knowledge of the restaurant's menu and cuisine in addition to understanding and performing side-work. Food runners must maintain positive, upbeat attitudes, work well with others, and interact with guests on a regular basis. Candidates must offer part-time availability.
Responsibilities to include:
Ensure food is prepared to guest's request Ensure plates are handled carefully and brought out in a timely manner Assist with clearing and cleaning tables, filling water glasses and refilling drinks Maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and customer areas and returning plates to the kitchen Able to handle customer complaints and notify appropriate staff to ensure problems are fixed Able to stand for 5+ hours Able to lift/carry 30+ lb. materials
