HIGHLIGHTS:
- Must have Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification
- Must have BLS and ACLS Certs
- Must have experience at least a year experience scrubbing within Cath Lab, Diagnostics, PCI's, Impellas, Balloon Pumps, Peripheral diagnostic interventions
- Structural Heart and EP (electrophysiology) experience preferred but not required
- IR experience preferred but not required
- Must have a team first mentality and help out when needed
- Valid BCLS certification required/ACLS certification required within six (6) months of hire
- High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required
- Graduate of an accredited program in Allied Health Sciences required
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) or Radiology Technologist (ARRT) with Cardiac Interventional (CI) or Vascular Interventional (VI) required
ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
- Must meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards and behaviors as outlined in the HFHS Customer Service Policy
- Physical demands include ability to scrub in sterile environment, wear lead aprons up to 5 lbs., lift patients with team assistance, push bed/stretcher with immobilized patients
MORE INFORMATION:
- No Fellowship program at facility
- Merge Hemo and Merge Cardio programs utilized
- Will be working in a four (4) person team
- Will be responsible for Scrubbing in and setting up tables
- Department is both Cath Lab and EP
- Three (3) labs, Range from 12-20 cases per day
- Demonstrates understanding of Cardiac, Vascular, Respiratory, and Renal, physiology and pathology
- Assists with orientation and training of Cath Lab staff
- Responsible for special projects and may include sitting in on relevant committees
- Adheres to the principles of medical ethics as applied to the role of the Cardiac Cath Lab Tech II
- Demonstrates thorough understanding of ECG and related medical terminology
- Recognizes ECG waveform morphology, wave patterns and their significance, including lethal arrhythmias
- Recognize and interpret ECG changes occurring in heart chamber enlargement and myocardial infarctions
- List and describe the most common cardiac pathologies, including symptoms and treatments
- Demonstrate understanding of all Cardiac medications and pharmacokinetics actions
- Recognizes and alerts physicians to abnormalities with clinical laboratory values
- Demonstrates knowledge of cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- Monitors diagnostic cardiac catheter procedures
- Identities coronary anatomy in cine angiographic projections
- Identify cardiac pressure waveforms
- Calculates basic hemodynamic parameters
- Records catheterization events in database computer
- Understands necessary supplies and setup for diagnostic cardiac catheterization
- Performs cardiac outputs, O2 saturations and ACT measurements
- Monitors percutaneous intervention procedures
- Full understanding of all extraction devices
- Ability to explain indication and complications of thrombolytic therapy
- Identify benefits of supplementing angiographic imaging
- Describe indications for electrophysiologic testing and related procedures
- Ability to identify and utilize main components of Cath Lab fluoroscopy system
