Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ED - Emergency Department Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/22/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 35 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, evenings Employment Type: Travel Emergency Department - Travel RN Opportunity\n\nLocation: [Facility Name - Not Provided]\nTrauma Level: Level III\nDesignations: STEMI Receiving | Stroke Receiving\nAverage Daily Volume: ~109 patients/day\n\n Unit Overview\n\nTotal Beds: 25 ED beds (2.5 Zones)\n\nAdditional Areas:\n\n3 Triage Rooms\n\n3 Trauma Bays\n\n2 safer rooms for psych/seclusion\n\nHazmat shower and flood tent for mass casualty\n\nFast Track Area: 4-room space occasionally used as fast track\n\nED Holds: Throughout the ED, average hold time ~90 mins (up to 4-8 hours). May include peds and psych patients.\n\n Staffing & Support\n\nCharge Nurse: 1 per shift (may take a patient load, especially nights)\n\nZones: Each zone (8 rooms) typically staffed with 3 RNs 1 CNA\n\nSupport Staff:\n\nCNAs (float between zones)\n\nED Techs\n\nSecurity in-house and located in ED 24/7\n\nRT 24/7 (ABGs, Tx, Vents, BiPap, CPAP, Airvo, etc.)\n\nPharmacist on-site ~12 hours/day (9a-9p)\n\nNo designated peds physician\n\n Required Experience\n\nMinimum Experience:\n\n1 year ED RN experience\n\nTrauma experience (MVAs, GSWs, stabbings)\n\nTriage experience\n\nMust have completed 2-3 prior travel assignments\n\nPreferred Experience:\n\nTrauma bay experience\n\nEpic EMR\n\n Certifications\n\nRequired: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC\n\nPreferred: ENPC\n\n Skills & Responsibilities\n\nRNs Must Be Proficient In:\n\nTitration of all critical gtts\n\nProcedural sedation (adult & peds)\n\nUse of filter tubing, blood product administration\n\nTelemetry strip interpretation\n\nIV starts with blood draws\n\nTransport of acute patients (adjacent radiology)\n\n Scheduling\n\nShift Times (Mids):\n\n1p-1:30a, 2p-2:30a, 4p-4:30a, 6p-6:30a\n\nSelf- Scheduling:\n\nFirst few weeks = fill schedule gaps\n\nTemplate-based schedule usually includes 5 days off in a row every 3-4 weeks\n\nWeekend Requirement: Every other weekend (some flexibility with template)\n\nHoliday Requirement: Rotation if assignment overlaps holidays\n\nOn-Call: Possible; callback pay per contract\n\nFloating: Not required, but may assist with tasking elsewhere if needed About Malone Healthcare - Nursing With a commitment to providing a higher standard of service and experience in patient care, Malone Healthcare places expert nurses and allied health professionals in rewarding careers throughout the United States.
