Aligned Solutions is partnering with a publicly traded company that is seeking a strategic and experienced
Head of Tax
to lead all aspects of tax strategy, compliance, planning, and reporting for our publicly traded company. This executive will be responsible for ensuring compliance with U.S. federal, state, and international tax regulations, while optimizing the company’s tax position in alignment with business objectives. The Head of Tax will partner closely with the CFO, finance leadership, and external advisors to support growth, M&A activity, and evolving global operations. Key Responsibilities Tax Strategy & Planning Develop and implement a comprehensive global tax strategy that aligns with the company’s business and financial objectives.
Provide thought leadership on tax implications of corporate initiatives, capital structure, international expansion, and mergers & acquisitions.
Advise executive leadership and the Board of Directors on tax risks and opportunities.
Compliance & Reporting Ensure full compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC, and IRS requirements as well as international tax laws.
Oversee preparation and review of all federal, state, and international tax filings.
Manage quarterly and annual income tax provisions and disclosures in accordance with ASC 740.
Maintain strong SOX controls and work closely with internal and external auditors.
Operational Leadership Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing tax team.
Establish scalable processes, policies, and controls to support a dynamic public company environment.
Manage relationships with tax authorities, external advisors, and audit firms.
Risk Management Proactively monitor changes in tax legislation, regulations, and case law, assessing potential impact on the company.
Minimize tax risks while identifying opportunities for efficiency and savings.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, JD, or Master’s in Tax preferred.
12+ years of progressive tax experience, including leadership roles within publicly traded companies.
Strong technical knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and international tax laws and regulations.
Deep expertise in ASC 740, tax accounting, and SEC reporting.
Experience supporting M&A transactions and complex organizational structures.
Proven ability to build and lead teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex tax matters to executive leadership and the Board.
