Senior Structural Engineer
to lead, problem-solve, and mentor engineering staff on projects involving cutting-edge structural systems for high-tech or industrial facilities, focusing on steel and strut configurations. This role requires technical expertise, leadership, and the ability to work in a hybrid onsite/remote environment. Local candidates are encouraged to apply; relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates. Responsibilities
Lead design and analysis of structures, including steel frames, reinforced concrete, and foundations used in high-tech or industrial facilities. Develop innovative solutions to optimize structural integrity and performance. Conduct load analysis considering various forces and environmental factors. Manage and optimize the design of steel structures emphasizing efficiency, durability, and safety. Evaluate the stability and safety of existing systems and recommend improvements. Ensure compliance with industry standards, produce technical documentation, reports, and drawings. Utilize AutoCAD and Revit for modeling, drafting, and detailing structural designs. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and adapt design concepts as needed. Work with other engineers and stakeholders on complex features and solutions. Coordinate with various engineering disciplines to optimize and improve work processes. Support management in articulating technical capability requirements. Perform field verifications and troubleshoot design issues during construction. Mentor and coach less experienced staff, fostering technical and professional growth. Provide technical support to colleagues and clients. Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering practices and standards. Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis from an ABET-accredited college. PE license required; SE license preferred. Strong knowledge of structural design codes (ASCE, AISC, ACI). Experience with engineering software such as RISA, STAAD, and Revit is preferred. Proven leadership and mentorship skills. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. Salary range: $115,000 - $150,000+ annually, depending on experience and certifications.
