Database Administrator

Sunnyvale, CA(Hybrid).
Candidates must have hands-on experience with Weaviate Vector DB and GenAI foundation models to be considered.
Rate Range:
$58/hour to 60/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Database Administrator job responsibilities include:
Ensure reliability, scalability, and uptime of Weaviate Vector DB services across hybrid infrastructure environments. Evaluate and compare vector database technologies for AI and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) use cases. Manage and optimize embedding storage and high-dimensional indexing (e.g., HNSW) for GenAI applications. Implement robust security, backup, and performance strategies for production-grade AI deployments. Collaborate with engineering and AI teams to integrate GenAI models and maintain database efficiency. Automate operational tasks and monitor system health to support continuous availability and performance. Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Data Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 7+ years of experience in database administration, with at least 2+ years in vector databases and GenAI environments. Must have hands-on experience with Weaviate Vector DB and GenAI foundation models. Proven ability to manage high-dimensional indexing (e.g., HNSW), embedding storage, and ensure reliability and scalability of AI-driven database services. Pay Details:
$58.00 to $60.00 per hour
