About The Opportunity
Our client, a well-established manufacturing company in Broomfield, CO, is seeking a strategic and hands-on ERP Transition & Operational Accounting Consultant to support their accounting operations during a critical ERP migration. This full-time, hybrid role is ideal for a seasoned accounting professional who enjoys bridging systems and teamskeeping day-to-day accounting tasks running smoothly while enabling the long-term vision.
As the ERP Transition & Operational Accounting Consultant, youll be a trusted resource across the finance teambackfilling key roles, digging into reconciliations, supporting compliance, and documenting existing processes. Youll partner closely with the Controller, Assistant Controller, and CFO to ensure operational continuity and provide expert insights during a time of change.
Key Responsibilities
Team Support & ERP Transition (30%) As the ERP Transition & Operational Accounting Consultant, you'll step in to support daily accounting functions across the team, allowing internal stakeholders to focus on the ERP implementation, system testing, and COA setup. Accounting Operations Oversight (30%) Handle and oversee core accounting functions including AP/AR, reconciliations, and cash application. You'll also act as the ERP Transition & Operational Accounting Consultant who identifies data integrity issues, uncovers gaps, and suggests improvements across operational accounting. Compliance & Tax Support (15%) Assist with monthly sales and use tax filings, help ensure GAAP compliance, and offer insight on intercompany transactions. As the ERP Transition & Operational Accounting Consultant, youll serve as a knowledgeable liaison on tax and compliance during a period of organizational shift. Process Documentation & Improvement (15%) Document current workflows and support knowledge capture across the department. The ERP Transition & Operational Accounting Consultant will collaborate with each team member to ensure that legacy knowledge is preserved and ready for future-state processes. Financial Collaboration (10%) Work with leadership across the finance and accounting organization, providing clear communication and trusted support. Your role as an ERP Transition & Operational Accounting Consultant will include working with staff across levels to drive improvements without disrupting day-to-day priorities.
Qualifications
Must-Haves:
Previous experience as an Accounting Manager, Controller, or equivalent leadership role Ability to flex between high-level consulting and hands-on accounting tasks Strong knowledge of GAAP, reconciliations, and intercompany accounting Advanced Excel (including complex formulas, links, and data manipulation) Clear communicator, proactive problem-solver, and collaborative team member
Nice-to-Haves
CPA or public accounting background Manufacturing industry experience Experience with Quantum ERP, Concur, PowerBI, or SQL
