Description/Job Summary The Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, and optimization of BCCC's vehicle fleet. This role involves managing maintenance schedules and compliance with transportation regulations. The Fleet Manager ensures that all vehicles are safe, efficient, and cost-effective, while supporting BCCC's operational needs. This position requires strong leadership, logistics knowledge, and organizational skills to coordinate with others. Responsibilities/Duties Roles/ResponsibilitiesProvide transportation for the president to various meetings, conferences, etc., to and from the airport or train station and other transportation needs as requested.Deliver board meeting materials to members of the board of trustees.Deliver and or pick-up payroll materials to or from Annapolis as needed.Coordinate shuttle/transportation services.Ensure that college vehicles are clean and maintained in safe operational condition.Transport college vehicles to repair facilities for routine maintenance and repair, in accordance to manufacture's specifications.Prepare monthly mileage report for college vehicles via Web Fleetmaster software as required by State Fleet Management.Report all vehicle accidents to the State's Maintenance and Repair contractor and coordinate repairs.Facilitate "driver improvement program" for college employees to become authorized drivers of college vehicles.Maintain list of authorized drivers and their driving records through the MVA "driving record flagging system".Maintain vehicle mileage, fuel and maintenance records.Prepare requisitions for new or replacement vehicle acquisitions, fuel and maintenance.Issue vehicle and driver fuel cards.Provide budget estimates for vehicle maintenance and fuel.Attend meetings/workshops as scheduled with the Department of Budget & Management and the Department of General Services related to fleet management.Keep track of all maintenance on college vehicles.Keep record of vehicle registration card and insurance certificate.Provide preventive maintenance on all vehicles.Complete and submit all fleet reporting requirements.Keep track of gasoline purchases by vehicle and staff.Keep track of vehicle usage by staff.Work EnvironmentThis position typically works outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. Work involves minimal risk and observance of safety precautions typical of operating a motor vehicle.Physical DemandsThe work entails sitting for extended periods and frequently standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching. Work requires eye-hand coordination, manual dexterity, near vision acuity, and the ability to see and read printed material and operate a motor vehicle. Required QualificationsEducationHigh School Diploma or GEDExperienceThree (3) years of experience in fleet maintenance or repair, which includesTwo (2) years in a supervisory role.Two (2) years tracking and monitoring maintenance on vehicles.Additional RequirementsPossession of a Valid Commercial Driver's LicenseA clean driving record and ability to meet federal and state driving standards (including regular federally required drug testing). Preferred Qualifications Associate's degree in Business or a related fieldFive (5) years of experience in fleet maintenance or repair, which includesTracking and monitoring maintenance on vehicles.Two (2) years in a supervisory role.Five (5) years with a CDL endorsementKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesExtensive knowledge and understanding of fleet management and operations.Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to prepare and adhere to a budget and monitor and reduce expenses.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.This position is not eligible for benefits.
