License: Valid respiratory therapy license. Certifications: ACLS, NRP, RRT. Must-Have: Previous experience in a Level 3 NICU. Description: Therapist will need to be skilled to work independently in a Level 3 NICU. They should feel comfortable attending c-sections and high-risk deliveries. Identification of infants' needs with APGAR scores is essential. Proficiency in various modalities of oxygen is required. Experience using surfactant, drawing capillary gases, and from a UAC is necessary. Candidates should be able to place initial ventilator settings for neonates. Ability to start and navigate the oscillator when needed is important. Competency in resuscitating a baby post-delivery is essential. A critical thinker who is comfortable with their critical skills is vital. Candidates will be caring for some of the smallest patients in a NICU setting. Independent work in the NICU environment is expected. Candidates are expected to work every other weekend. There is no call requirement. Floating within the facility and scope of practice may be required as needed. Availability to cover major holidays during the assignment period is expected. Compliance with all documentation and health requirements is mandatory prior to commencement. Travel experience is required, and two supervisory references are preferred.
