Pay Information $2,038 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience required in specialty. License: Compact or state license required. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, AWHONN Intermediate required for certain positions. Must-Have: - Post-operative gastrointestinal and wound care experience. - Acute care experience. - Full-time experience in a post-operative unit. - Completion of at least one travel contract. Description: This is a Medical-Surgical nursing position specializing in post-operative care. Traveler must be aware of the potential for natural disasters during the hurricane season, which runs from June 1 to November 30. Travelers may be assigned to an emergency team during hurricanes and must remain at the facility until the situation stabilizes. Candidates must possess experience in managing post-operative patients with various diagnoses, including pancreatitis, gastrointestinal bleeds, bowel obstructions, and wound infections. Experience with specific surgical procedures such as pancreatectomy, esophagectomy, and colectomy is required. Competence in using essential medical equipment, including PEG tubes, PCA, and wound vacs, is preferred. Regular patient ratios will be maintained, with expectations for weekend coverage. Health protocols require vaccination for COVID-19 and influenza, with exemptions only for medical or religious reasons. This unit will also receive medical-surgical overflow as necessary. Pre-approved time off requests must be communicated early. References will need to be provided prior to contract clearance.
