Pay Information $2,393 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical / Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Rotating Hours per Shift: 11.5 Hours Experience: - Minimum years of experience required: 2 years surgical nursing experience - Required experience includes care for patients after vascular, thoracic, colorectal, and general surgeries License: Valid nursing license Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications preferred Must-Have: - Chest tube management - Care for tubes and drains for post-surgical patients - Administration of drips, including Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, and amiodarone - Care and maintenance of central lines and blood draws - Experience with telemetry and complex wound care - Ability to manage tracheostomy and laryngectomy patients Description: This position requires a registered nurse with surgical experience. The nurse will care for patients in a 32-bed surgical unit. Common diagnoses on this unit include ARDS, esophagectomies, Whipple procedures, and sepsis. Patient ratios on days will be approximately 4:1, and on nights, 5:1. The staffing model includes LNA ratios of 1:7-11, as the unit shares with other patient care units. Expectations include floating to other areas as needed. Call coverage is required for this position.
