Travel RN - Med/Surg

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position specializing in post-surgical patient care with recent trauma experience required.Job Details•Position is on a 32-bed surgical unit at an acute care hospital,•Primary patient population includes post-vascular, thoracic, colorectal, and general surgery cases,•Common diagnoses include ARDS, esophagectomies, whipples procedures, and sepsis,•RN patient ratios are 4:1 on days and 5:1 on nights,•LNA ratios are 1:7-11 and are shared with the PCU,•Floating to other units may be required,•Telemetry monitoring is part of the role,•36 hours per week schedule,Job Requirements•Active RN license required and must remain current throughout assignment,•BLS certification required,•Must have recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 trauma experience within the last 2 years,•Experience caring for patients after vascular, thoracic, colorectal, and general surgeries required,•Proficiency with chest tubes, drips (Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, amiodarone), lines/tubes/drains, trachs/laryngectomies, telemetry, complex wounds, and central line maintenance and blood draws,•No local candidates accepted; must live at least 75 miles from facility,Additional Information•Responsibilities include post-surgical care with a focus on complex wounds, drips, and monitoring,•Work in a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center environment,•Seven acute care facilities serve the local region,•All required licenses and certifications must remain active for the entire assignment,),•hash,:• ,
