Pay Information $2,645 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical / Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Rotating Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum Years of Experience: Required surgical experience. License: Current Registered Nurse license. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Must-Have: - Experience caring for patients post-vascular, thoracic, colorectal, and general surgery. - Experience with chest tubes, lines, tubes, and drains for post-surgical patients. - Proficiency in managing telemetry and complex wounds. - Experience with central line care and maintenance as well as blood draws. Description: This position is for a medical/surgical unit specializing in postoperative care. The unit has a capacity of 32 beds. Patients commonly present with diagnoses such as ARDS, esophagectomies, whipples, and sepsis. The patient-nurse ratio on days is 4:1 and on nights is 5:1. The nurse-to-patient ratios in the unit share with the Progressive Care Unit. The traveler may be required to float to other units when necessary. On-call responsibilities may be a part of the role. Candidates should have experience with drips such as diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, and amiodarone. Experience in caring for tracheostomy and laryngectomy patients is necessary.
