Travel Nursing Job Details Location: Shelby, NC 28150 (North Carolina nursing jobs) Unit: 32-bed Med/Surg/Tele unit, certified Chest Pain and Stroke Center Employment Type: Travel RN (locum tenens) Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 09/08/2025 - End: 12/06/2025) Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00pm - 7:00am), 36 hours/week Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend Holiday Coverage: Work 75% of holidays during contract Scrub Color: Navy Technology: EPIC EMR, Alaris IV Pumps, Omnicell, Phillips Monitors Free Parking Estimated Weekly Salary: $1570 - $1680 per week Med/Surg RN Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (required for travel nursing jobs) Minimum 18 months of recent Med/Surg/Tele RN experience Skilled in cardiac rhythm interpretation and non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone) Experience with wound care, drain/tube management, PIV starts, and central line management Ability to float within region and scope of practice (Cleveland, Kings Mountain, Lincoln, Central Division) Med/Surg RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with common diagnoses: joint replacements, colon resections, gallbladder surgeries, appendectomies, amputations, hip fractures, SBO, NG tubes Manage patient ratios of 1:5-6 on nights, with surge staffing up to 1:7-8 Interpret cardiac rhythms and administer non-titrating cardiac drips Provide wound care, manage drains and tubes, start PIVs, and oversee central line maintenance Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team: CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, intensivists Float to other facilities within the region as needed Participate in orientation and departmental training (2 days) Experience the welcoming atmosphere of Shelby, NC-a friendly small-town with access to outdoor recreation, local shops, and cultural attractions.
