Job Title: Travel RN - Med Surg (12 Tower) Hospital: Centennial Medical Center - 12 Tower (2300 Patterson Street) Shift: 12-Hour Shifts (Nights/Days, depending on availability) Assignment Length: 13 Weeks Job Overview Centennial Medical Center is seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse - Med Surg to join the team on 12 Tower (12T). This is a 36-bed medical-surgical unit with a strong culture of teamwork and patient-focused care. The unit also functions as an overflow non-ICU COVID unit during community surges. Unit Specifics Beds: 36 Patient Ratios: 1:4 or 1:5 Staffing: Secretary daily, PRN techs available Equipment: PD Cyclers, Welch Allyn VS Carts, Hoyer Lift, Broda Chairs, Alaris IV Pumps Documentation System: Meditech Scheduling Requirements: 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week block Floating Policy: Travelers will float over core staff Dress Code: Scrubs (Navy, Blue, White, Black, Gray, Ceil Blue) Requirements (Must-Have): Active RN License (Compact or TN license) BLS Certification NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS) COVID-19 Vaccination Preferred Experience & Skills: 2+ years Med Surg nursing experience Able to perform assessments and general care for: Wounds, tracheostomy, ostomy, drains, chest tubes Stroke & seizure management Dialysis patients and PCA pumps (only drip: Heparin) Familiar with post-op procedures: amputations, ostomy, chest tubes, oral surgeries, wound vacs Unit Expectations & Patient Experience Bedside shift reports Safety checks every 1-2 hours Strong focus on communication and responsiveness Compliance with HAI prevention, fall prevention, medication scanning, and attendance policy Team Culture 12 Tower is known for its great teamwork and youthful, motivated staff.
