Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Cardiac Intensive Care Duration: 18 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 3 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS Must-Have: Cerner experience required; experience recovering fresh hearts from the OR within the past 6 months Description: Must complete all required modules before arrival. Failure to complete modules will result in delay. Unit has 10 beds. Staffing ratios are 1 to 1 or 1 to 2. Charge Nurse available 24/7, with no patients unless absolutely necessary. Resource Nurse available 24/7. No nurse aides; support staff available for room setup, phone answering, and call light assistance. Every other weekend requirement; may vary based on unit needs. Major holidays: work 2 out of 3; other holidays as needed based on staff rotation. Scrub color requirement is navy blue for all items worn. Telemetry is monitored centrally and in each room. Ventilator types include Draeger, Hamilton G5 & Galileo, with LVT for transport. Intensivist available during the day, on-call after hours. Respiratory Therapy is available 24/7. Pharmacy is on-site 24/7 with Omnicell. Shifts run from 7 AM to 7:30 PM. No self-scheduling; time-off requests must be made prior to the contract. Floor-specific orientation includes 1 shift with a preceptor. ICU experience required, with additional focus on cardiovascular patients. Common patient diagnoses include STEMI, AAA, hypothermia, and sepsis. Unit is high acuity and fast-paced; flexibility is required.
