Backhoe Operator
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Backhoe Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will operate backhoe equipment to excavate, move, and load earth, rock, gravel, or other materials on construction sites. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work efficiently under varying site conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate backhoe and related heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Excavate and dig trenches, holes, and foundations as required by project plans. Load and unload materials or debris using backhoe attachments. Inspect and maintain equipment to ensure proper functionality. Read and interpret site plans, blueprints, and grade stakes. Coordinate with other crew members and site supervisors to complete tasks. Follow all safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe work environment. Perform minor repairs and report major equipment issues to maintenance staff. Maintain work logs, reports, and other documentation as required. Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred). Valid operator's license or heavy equipment certification (as required by jurisdiction). At least 2 years experience operating a backhoe or similar heavy equipment. Strong knowledge of safe equipment operating practices. Physical ability to lift, carry, and move heavy materials and work outdoors in various conditions. Good communication and teamwork skills. Work Environment:
Outdoor construction sites (may include inclement weather and uneven terrain). Requires wearing personal protective equipment (PPE). Work Hours & Benefits
