Dental Program: Health Systems Reports to: Clinical Dental Director Employment Status: Full Time FLSA Status: Exempt Schedule: 40 Hours/52 Weeks Preference: TERO Ordinance 2017-01, P.L. 93-638 Job Summary Performs restorative, prosthodontic, surgical, endodontic, interceptive orthodontic and periodontal treatment as provided in general dentistry. Essential Functions Educating patients on oral health care Examine teeth and diagnose patients' dental conditions using X-rays Assessing treatment options and agreeing on treatment plans with patients Carrying out agreed dental treatments, such as restoring teeth affected by decay, crown and bridge work, etc., Maintaining patients' dental records Adhere to the Tribe's policies and procedures Ensures compliance with Tribal, Federal, State and Local employment laws and regulations, Tribal policies and TERO ordinance It is the intent of this job description to highlight the essential functions of the position; however, it is not an all-inclusive list. If the use of arm and/or leg control requires exertion of forces greater than that of sedentary work and if the worker sits most of the time, the job is considered light work. - Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue Equipment and Tools List Equipment used for job: Computer, fax, copier, scanner, and other office equipment Drives KIT or Personal Vehicle: Travel Local In-State Out-of-State Travel may be required for training Qualifications Education Graduate from an accredited dental school Experience Three (3) years of experience in practicing dentistry Knowledge and experience working with Alaska Native/American Indian populations preferred Preferred Knowledge and experience working with cultural diversities License/Certification Alaska dental licensure required Valid Alaska Driver License and must remain insurable under Tribal policy Special Skills Good oral and written communication skills Excellent customer service skills This position is a Covered Position subject to all requirements of the Alaska Barrier Crimes Act (ABCA) and to the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act, (ICPA). ABCA and ICPA requirements apply and must be complied with at all times in order to remain in the position.
