Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Laboratory Director and Manager, the Lead Medical Technologist (Blood Bank/Hematology) is responsible for supervising professional and non-professional staff in the Laboratory. The Lead ensures excellent patient care, customer service, and accurate analysis of specimens. In the absence of the Laboratory Director and/or Manager, the Lead provides direction to laboratory personnel. Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related science from an accredited college or university. MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE: 3–5 years in a clinical laboratory setting. REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: ASCP or equivalent certification. REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of procedures in Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology/Serology, Urinalysis, Limited Microbiology, point-of-care testing, Phlebotomy, and administrative skills.
