The Opportunity

Axis Talent Group is urgently seeking a Senior Estimator to lead high-stakes commercial construction projects and drive business success through precise, competitive bids. This role offers the chance to mentor a team, negotiate critical contracts, and position yourself for advancement into a Chief Estimator role or even a junior-level executive position.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for commercial construction projects, including restoration, waterproofing, masonry, roofing, caulking, and concrete.
  • Perform detailed takeoffs using Microsoft Excel and Bluebeam, ensuring precision in cost estimation.
  • Negotiate contracts and proposals with general contractors and clients to secure projects.
  • Lead and mentor a mid-level estimator and a junior estimator, fostering their professional growth.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure estimates align with project goals and client expectations.
  • Contribute to winning bids on approximately 15 projects per week, driving 50% of the company’s success.


What You Bring

  • Experience : 7+ years of commercial construction estimating experience across multiple trades (e.g., restoration, waterproofing, masonry, roofing, caulking, concrete).
  • Technical Skills : Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Bluebeam for estimating takeoffs; familiarity with other estimating software is a plus.
  • Leadership : Proven ability to lead or mentor other estimators, with experience managing or coaching a team preferred.
  • Skills : Strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to produce accurate proposals under tight deadlines.
  • Ambition : A driven mindset with a desire to grow into a Chief Estimator role or junior-level executive position.
  • Nice-to-Haves : Experience with high-volume bidding environments and a track record of winning projects through precise estimates.
