Job Summary/Basic Function
The Program Coordinator assists in developing and implementing Stubblefield Institute programs for Shepherd University students, key audiences, and members of the general public.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in education, public administration, business, social work, communications, project management, or similar fields.
  • At least three years of experience in education, project management, communications, leadership development, or similar field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Some experience in program management, relationship sales, business development, grant/budget management

Job Duties
Description of Job Duties
  1. Program management
    1. Assists in developing new Stubblefield Institute initiatives by participating in innovation, planning, research, donor relations, community awareness, and implementation
    2. Works with the Executive Director and the Programs Committee to set goals for current and future Stubblefield Institute programs
    3. Is responsible for meeting assigned goals related to Stubblefield Institute programs
    4. Participates in assessing Stubblefield Institute programs for efficacy and further development
  2. Partner Cultivation
    1. Cultivates and maintains positive working relationships with departments and programs within Shepherd University that support the objectives of the Stubblefield Institute
    2. Recruits, cultivates, and maintains partnerships with other educational institutions, community-based organizations (CBOs), community leaders, businesses, and governmental bodies
    3. Solicits and receives feedback from partners that can be used to increase efficacy of or further develop the programs of the Stubblefield Institute
    4. Engages in service recovery such as active listening, problem solving, and conflict management with partners when necessary
  3. Grant Management
    1. Assists with providing supportive research and background information for grant applications related to the Stubblefield Institute programs and initiatives
    2. Assists with aligning Stubblefield Institute programs to funder requirements
    3. Provides outcomes data to meet reporting requirements
    4. Assures compliance with grant requirements, including tracking grant expenditures
  4. Program Administration
    1. Organizes and implements the curriculum of the Stubblefield Institute Community Leadership & Civil Advocacy Certificate (CLCA). This includes but is not limited to recruiting students and institutional partners, inviting and organizing guest speakers, and being the instructor of record for the CLCA for-credit course.
    2. Provides administrative support for program operations, including record keeping, managing program budgets, report preparation, and scheduling
    3. Assists in generating nonprofit earned income by offering fee-based services, such as providing educational programs
  5. Event Support
    1. Supports Stubblefield Institute programs including, but not limited to, student-led programs and initiatives, for-credit courses, conferences, town halls, debates, and forums
    2. Support may include assisting with planning, securing sponsors, recruiting participants, and providing day-of staff support
