Senior Electrical Power Engineer
to help our clients develop, contract, and implement natural gas and potentially renewable energy generation projects while serving as Owner’s Engineer and/or Advisor.

Responsibilities
Lead teams for power generation design projects in utility-scale power and renewable energy, including support in a traditional Owner’s Engineer role.
Mentor engineers, support client relationships, and lead marketing activities including proposal technical writing, fee development, and work breakdown structure development in response to RFPs.
Perform design and engineering work for power plant systems (power generation and distribution, protection and motor control design, power system studies, construction and equipment specification development, and balance-of-plant design such as raceways, lighting, and grounding); serve as engineer of record as needed.
Direct the activities of other engineering professionals and mentor staff as needed.
Travel expectations: less than 10% travel for client meetings, vendor visits, and project site visits.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program with an Electrical Power emphasis
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Control Systems Engineering with an Electrical Power emphasis
Minimum 15 years of experience in electrical power generation design
Design experience with simple cycle and combined cycle power generation
Previous experience with an engineering power consulting or EPC firm desired
Excellent communication, written and organizational skills
Strong leadership skills with the ability to work independently, as a lead on a multi-discipline consulting team, or as a lead on a small team
Extensive knowledge of three-phase electrical power, protection and control design and settings development, system grounding, physical design, and experience with lighting and grounding design, instrumentation and control, and life safety systems
Ability to work with Project Manager and Project Controller on project reviews with management as needed
Direct the activities of other engineering professionals and mentor staff as needed
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
Minimum of 10 years of experience
Professional Engineers (PE or P.Eng) license
Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector
Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard Power Market Sector design software (examples include PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, and Revit)
