Senior Mechanical Power Engineer

Lead the project mechanical engineering effort, including coordination with other disciplines and monitoring project status. Provide mechanical engineering support for detailed design and owner’s engineer projects on technical and contractual levels. Lead the mechanical engineering team on projects of varying size and type, mentor engineers and EITs, and collaborate with designers from multiple disciplines. Develop deliverables such as construction drawings, bid specifications, equipment sizing calculations, technical memos, feasibility studies, reports and cost estimates. Preferred Qualifications
BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABET accredited university. Minimum 15 years of experience in power generation design. Gas turbine, steam turbine and/or large reciprocating engine experience or subject matter expertise. Design experience with simple cycle and combined cycle power generation. Previous experience with an engineering power consulting or EPC firm is desired. Minimum 10 years of experience in the fossil power industry with a blend of design and owner’s engineer projects. Ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments. Excellent communication and analytical skills. Willing to mentor less experienced engineers and EITs. Proficient in working within an established schedule and budget. Travel expectation is less than 10 percent for client and vendor meetings and site visits. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering Minimum of 10 years of experience Professional Engineers license (PE or P.Eng) Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard Power Market Sector design software (examples include PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, and Revit) Commitment to participating in an employee-owned culture What HDR Believes and Our Commitment

The compensation range for this position depends on skills, experience, education and location. The targeted salary range is $108,661 to $204,250. HDR offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, employee assistance, paid time off, parental leave, holidays, a retirement savings plan with employer match, employee referral bonuses and tuition reimbursement where applicable.
