Volunteer Position With Apache Junction Animal Control

Positions in this class assist the Apache Junction Animal Control with a variety of jobs and tasks. This is a volunteer position and does not offer any compensation. Essential Duties: Cleaning, feeding, watering, and holistic care of all animals including companionship Answering telephones Assisting customers Assisting in the adoption process and completing paperwork Assist with rescue organizations, donation pickup, and other events Contact: Kennedy Carter, 480-983-4405, aedwards@apachejunctionaz.gov Time Commitment: 4-40 hours per week, or as assigned. Days of Work Week: Monday through Saturday Hours: 7:00 am - 3:00 pm, varies by assignment. Minimum Qualifications: Volunteers 18 years of age or older who are accepted for assignment must consent and pass a criminal background check and fingerprinting. Supplemental Information: Knowledge: Communicate clearly and concisely (both verbally and in writing). Knowledge of the proper care and the ability to lift and handle animals as necessary. Knowledge of City and department procedures, policies, and guidelines. Skills: Convey a positive, friendly attitude, and work pleasantly with staff, patrons, and other volunteers.
