The City of Corona, located in Riverside County, California, is seeking a Public Safety Dispatcher II. Salary: $5,695 - $6,922 monthly Location: Corona, CA Job Type: Full-Time Benefited Job Number: 2025-32-22 Department: Police Department Opening Date: 04/07/2025 Closing Date: Continuous To be considered for this position, you must: Actively be working in a dispatch capacity Have a typing speed of 40 wpm or more Possess a POST Basic Public Safety Dispatch Certificate Knowledge & Education: Completion of the twelfth (12th) grade or equivalent. Knowledge of operations and services of a comprehensive municipal law enforcement agency and the dispatch function. Familiar with principles, practices, methods, techniques, and terminology used in public safety dispatching. Skills/Abilities: Ability to assess and prioritize emergency situations. Dispatch appropriate response units for a diverse range of emergency situations. Quickly and accurately disseminate information. Effectively communicate with upset and irate callers. Compile and summarize information to prepare accurate, clear, and concise reports. Memorize codes, names, street locations, and other information. Read and interpret maps and other pertinent documentation. Experience: Actively working as a Public Safety Dispatcher. Possession of a P.O.S.T. Basic Public Safety Dispatch Certificate. Possession of or ability to obtain a valid CLETS Certification. One (1) year of increasingly responsible public safety dispatch experience.
