Food Assistance Program Coordinator

Armed Services YMCA National Headquarters The oldest military support organization in the U.S., the Armed Services YMCA is a top-rated military nonprofit with a goal of "Strengthening Our Military Family" since 1861 through its 12 branches and 23 affiliate partners, serving nearly 100 military installations and facilities nationwide. We provide hands-on, innovative, specialized programs and support services to military service members and their families the individuals on the front lines defending our nation. Programs are offered at no or low cost and require no dues or membership fees. Position Title: Food Program Coordinator Reporting To: Executive Director FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Part-time: 15-30 hours per week Hourly rate: $18-$22 per hour depending on qualifications Responsibilities Ensures the delivery of exceptional customer service to pantry patrons. Sort items received through donations Solicits and provides direction to volunteers Performs computer duties related to tracking donations, patron metrics, etc. Ensures the pantry is clean and stocked as needed. Handles pick up and purchasing of food for the pantry. Assist with social media presence and other public relations initiatives. Maintain open communication with Executive Director regarding program needs and opportunities. Performs other duties as assigned to support food insecurity programs at the branch.
Qualifications
Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent. Possess solid organization and planning skills. Be proficient in multitasking. Must be able to function in various work environments and work with multiple internal departments and external donors and organizations. Strong communication skills are preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Suites and CRM based software Must be able to work with minimal supervision and prioritize work assignments with minimal guidance. Experience with military lifestyles/military community is appreciated but not necessary. Must have a valid drivers license and a clean driving record. Must be able to pass background checks to obtain base access. Work experience with a non-profit organization is a plus, but not necessary. Desire to work on a team and have a CAN-DO attitude
Physical Requirements
Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions. Must be able to lift 20 pounds. Have the availability to work weekends as needed to support program operations and special events. Expected to complete local pickups and food runs.
