Overview
Our client, a leading provider in the environmental services industry, is seeking a Director of Accounting, with a focus in Operational Accounting. This is a newly created role with high visibility within the company. About the Role: Director of Accounting (Operations) Responsibilities
Leads the period-end accounting close process for all operating facilities, including additional processes at quarter-end and year-end Monitors intercompany transfer rates throughout the year and recommends adjustments Develops and implements processes to track intercompany transfers Ensures facility allocations are accurate and updated at least annually Prepares monthly financial summaries and key performance indicators (KPIs) for executive review Partners with other management on strategic initiatives and capital improvement projects Analyzes the financial performance of individual sites and overall operations to support business decisions, optimize profitability, and improve efficiency Meets regularly with operations management to review financial results Contributes to the preparation and review of materials for Board of Directors meetings Provides documentation and support for management meetings regarding facility performance Identifies and implements process improvements to enhance efficiency and strengthen internal controls Collaborates with other finance and accounting functions to ensure accurate and timely recording of transactions in compliance with US GAAP Works with functional leaders and segment-level finance to develop annual budgets for operating facilities and supports the quarterly forecasting process Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field 8+ years of experience in accounting, with a preference for manufacturing or environmental services industry Seniority Level
