focused on generating superior returns through event-driven trading across global markets. Position Summary

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and execution-driven VP of Finance to oversee and manage the firm’s financial operations with a focus on trader-centric accounting. This individual will work closely with the COO and Controller to eventually own the full financial reporting and operations process. The goal is to identify gaps, optimize workflows, and build a more robust and scalable infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have experience in a hedge fund, proprietary trading firm, or multi-strategy buy side platform and will be comfortable working in a lean, fast-paced environment where accuracy and responsiveness are critical. Key Responsibilities

Partnership Accounting & Allocations

– Maintain capital accounts, performance fee calculations, and accurate P&L allocations across traders/entities. Trader Compensation

– Calculate and oversee payouts, incentive comp, and deferred arrangements; ensure alignment with contractual terms and firm return metrics. P&L Oversight

– Own daily/monthly P&L; reconcile with trading/risk teams and explain drivers and variances. Return & Capital Analytics

– Report on total/net return and Return on Capital by trader/strategy; provide insights to COO and investment teams. Trade & Expense Tracking

– Manage attribution of trades/expenses and ensure accurate cost allocations. Audit, Tax & Reporting

– Coordinate with auditors and tax advisors; support financial statement prep and K-1s. Process Ownership

– Lead improvements in financial reporting, controls, and automation. Key Requirements

6–12 years of relevant experience in hedge fund or trading firm accounting. Strong technical knowledge of hedge fund partnership accounting, trader compensation models, and P&L structures. Experience working in a trader-centric environment Proficiency in Excel (advanced functions, lookups, pivot tables). Highly detail-oriented, with strong analytical skills and an ownership mentality. Self-starter comfortable in a lean team with a flat structure and high accountability. CPA or relevant financial certification preferred. Job Details
