Overview
We are conducting a confidential search for a skilled Portfolio/Fund Accountant to join a growing investment management firm. This role is central to ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of the firm’s portfolio accounting operations across a diverse range of investment products.
Responsibilities
Perform monthly account reconciliations to verify and validate portfolio positions, transactions, and valuations.
Book trades and transactions across multiple asset classes, including equities, fixed income, mutual funds, hedge funds, and private equity.
Maintain accurate and compliant accounting records in line with GAAP and firm policies.
Prepare and deliver tailored accounting and portfolio reports to meet client-specific requirements.
Assist with ad hoc projects such as system migrations, audit requests, and process improvements.
Collaborate with portfolio managers, operations teams, custodians, and auditors to resolve reconciliation issues and ensure smooth reporting.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
Strong understanding of accounting principles applicable to investment portfolios.
3+ years of experience with alternative investment products (hedge funds, mutual funds, private equity) highly desirable.
Proficiency with portfolio accounting systems and advanced Excel skills; Bloomberg and PowerPoint experience required.
Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to thrive independently and in team settings within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
