The Senior Electrical Power Engineer will help clients develop, contract, and implement natural gas and potentially renewable energy generation projects, while serving as Owner's Engineer and/or Advisor. Responsibilities

Lead teams for power generation design projects, including supporting an Owner's Engineer role. Provide expertise in power generation and distribution, protection and motor control design, power system studies, construction and equipment specification development, and balance of plant designs such as raceway, lighting, and grounding systems. Mentor junior engineers, manage client relationships, and lead marketing activities including proposal technical writing, fee builds, and work breakdown structure development in response to requests for proposals. Perform design and engineer-of-record work on power plant systems. Coordinate with Project Manager and Project Controller on project reviews; direct the activities of other engineering professionals and mentor staff as needed. Travel is expected to be less than 10% for client meetings and site visits. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program with an Electrical Power emphasis. Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical power generation design. Professional Engineers (PE) license or P.Eng. Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector. Proficient with Microsoft Office and standard Power Market Sector design software (examples include PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, and Revit). Commitment to HDR's employee-owned culture. Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Control Systems Engineering with an Electrical Power emphasis. Minimum 15 years of experience in electrical power generation design. Design experience with simple cycle and combined cycle power generation. Previous experience with an engineering power consulting or EPC firm. Excellent communication, written, and organizational skills. Strong leadership skills with the ability to work independently, as a lead on a multi-discipline consulting team, or as a lead on a small team. Extensive knowledge of three-phase electrical power, protection and control design and settings development, system grounding, and related activities such as lighting and grounding design, instrumentation and control, and life safety systems. Ability to work with Project Manager and Project Controller on project reviews and to mentor staff as needed. Travel for client meetings and site visits is expected to be less than 10%. The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.) The targeted salary range for this position (based on experience and location) is $108,661 - $204,250 (New Jersey: $131,537 - $204,250).
