Overview
Digital Product Owner - Lending at Citizens leads the vision, roadmap, and delivery of digital priorities across Lending products, including Credit Cards, Home Equity, Student Lending, Personal Loans, and Mortgage. The Lending Digital Strategy and Delivery team is seeking a Digital Product Owner to collaborate with business, technology, and analytics partners to develop, prioritize, and deliver on the strategic vision of new products and services. This role supports the implementation of product roadmaps and capabilities to meet business and customer needs, leveraging agile methodologies to transform from a project-based to a product-based organization focused on maximizing the customer experience value. The Digital Product Owner will use a collaborative, digital-first mindset to help Citizens create and implement innovative products and solutions while obsessing over the customer experience. A successful Product Owner will articulate and communicate a strategy/vision, develop and tell a story, measure impact, and execute the vision with deep technical focus including writing business requirements, overseeing design, and ensuring successful delivery with the Agile pod. Primary responsibilities Accountable for delivering value for the product, defining the overall vision, journey digitization OKRs and financial outcomes. Work with delivery teams to ensure the right functionality is built in a timely manner. Transform high-level vision into detailed requirements. Ensure pod mobilization plans, refinement of charters, and alignment with journey digitization OKRs and resources. Serve as a key leader on Agile teams, promoting empowerment, continuous learning, and a growth mindset by working onsite with the team; facilitate release planning and weekly demos. Translate the Lending Domain Owners strategy into actionable tasks; collaborate with cross-functional agile teams to ensure strong collaboration and execution of requirements. Ensure solutions are facilitated across the organization, including identification and prioritization of cross-journey enablers. Understand and analyze team results and Agile metrics; use strong story-writing skills to communicate progress on the product roadmap against the mission and OKRs. Understand market and industry trends to generate criteria for a vision that drives transformational impact and anticipates customer needs and behaviors. Integrate product research and requirements to ensure a frictionless customer experience, enhance satisfaction, and ensure customer-centric design. Lead large-scale product demos or reviews. Develop well-defined definitions of done and acceptance criteria to ensure the agile team delivers quality and scope. Contribute as a hands-on leader, developing UI prototypes, assisting with data provisioning, and performing analytics on usage, behavior, and technical data. Provide oversight to ensure alignment with Agile/Scrum practices; ensure alignment with tools and processes to improve team efficiency. Participate in Scrum of Scrums, remove obstacles, and own applicable tasks. Serve as a servant leader, coaching onsite, providing feedback, and fostering continuous learning. Create a culture where colleagues own their work and continuously innovate.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications 7+ years of experience in product development, marketing, strategy, digital, or process/user interface design. Knowledge of Consumer Lending products and services. Proven experience designing a vision/strategy with cross-functional alignment on complex initiatives. Ability to facilitate collaboration with team members to develop ideas and solve problems. Experience in strategy delivery, including knowledge of agile approaches (e.g., XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD), design thinking, and producing detailed functional and information requirements. Consistently applies current procedures and technologies to resolve business issues. Ability to synthesize data and research across the business and external market to drive product development and enable digitization.
