Job Description The Project Engineer provides engineering leadership to a team representing multiple skill areas, including internal and external resources and customers. The role involves developing engineering project plans to meet customer requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop statements of work (SOW) to satisfy research, development, and new business requirements.
Obtain SOW approval from customers and management.
Manage changes to SOW, assess impacts, and incorporate modifications as needed.
Negotiate changes to determine modifications to deliverables, resources, costs, and schedules.
Lead project execution to fulfill the work statement.
Identify program performance metrics.
Plan and coordinate resources required over the project or program lifecycle.
Lead a team of up to 20 engineers, providing planning, organization, coaching, mentoring, and training.
Manage multiple priorities and assign tasks to team members.
Collaborate with other departments and vendors to ensure consensus on project plans.
Communicate effectively with the engineering team, other departments, customers, and vendors.
Plan engineering packages, prepare staffing plans, anticipate critical path issues, and set schedules to meet program deadlines and budgets.
Provide periodic project status updates to upper management.
Serve as the focal point for all engineering activities on a program.
Delegate responsibilities to improve efficiency.
Evaluate and approve designs, changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent, with a minimum of 7 years of industry experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of aircraft structural, interior, mechanical, and electrical engineering.
Experience with structural substantiation and certification.
Background in aviation and aircraft interior design.
Ability to lead and mentor a team of up to 20 engineers.
Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with CAD, spreadsheets, word processing, and project management software.
Ability to sit for extended periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and travel as required.
Willingness to work overtime as needed.
