A well-established immigration law firm in San Jose, CA, is seeking an experienced Immigration Attorney with a focus on Removal Defense. This full-time position offers an opportunity to manage a caseload independently and provide legal representation to clients in removal proceedings, including asylum and cancellation of removal cases. The firm values compassionate representation and aims to prevent the separation of families. The ideal candidate should be fluent in both English and Spanish and possess at least two years of experience in immigration law.
Location:
San Jose, CA Duties:
Manage an independent caseload, handling removal defense and family immigration cases. Prepare petitions, applications, briefs, motions, and other filings. Represent clients in removal proceedings, including asylum, cancellation of removal, and other forms of relief. Conduct legal research to support case strategies and filings. Present and explain immigration concepts to monolingual Spanish-speaking clients. Work collaboratively with the managing attorney and support staff. Supervise and manage the Removal Defense Department. Requirements:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Active bar admission in any state. Minimum of 2 years of immigration law experience, with a focus on removal defense. Strong legal writing and research skills. Ability to manage deadlines effectively. Passion for immigration law and helping families. Fluency in both Spanish and English (spoken and written) is required. Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Certifications:
Active bar admission in any state. Skills:
Strong legal writing and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage a caseload. Excellent legal research and analytical skills.
