Overview The Director of the IT PMO is a strategic leadership role responsible for establishing, developing, and overseeing the Project Management Office (PMO) within the Information Technology department. This individual will lead a team of project and program managers, ensuring the successful planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects aligned with organizational goals. The role demands strong leadership, operational rigor, stakeholder management, and the ability to drive a culture of project excellence across the technology organization.

Lead and mature the IT PMO function, developing standards, processes, and governance frameworks to ensure consistent and high-quality project delivery. Manage a portfolio of enterprise-wide IT projects and programs, including infrastructure, applications, digital, integration, and data initiatives. Collaborate with business and IT leadership to prioritize projects based on strategic alignment, resource availability, risk, and ROI. Develop and manage project intake, planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting processes across all IT initiatives. Oversee project managers and analysts, providing mentorship, performance management, and skills development. Partner with Finance and IT leadership to manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost tracking. Ensure clear and transparent project communications and status reporting to executive stakeholders. Identify and mitigate risks across the project portfolio; escalate issues and recommend corrective actions where necessary. Drive continuous improvement efforts in project delivery methodology (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid). Monitor and report PMO KPIs (on-time delivery, budget adherence, resource utilization, etc.). Lead change management initiatives and drive organizational adoption for new IT tools, platforms, and practices. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred. 10+ years of experience in IT project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership or PMO director role. Strong knowledge of project management frameworks (PMI, Agile, Scrum, etc.) and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Smartsheet, etc.). PMP, PgMP, or comparable project management certification strongly preferred. Experience in the Cruise Industry is strongly preferred; however, equivalent experience in the travel industry (e.g., travel, hospitality) or the Marine Industry (Military, Merchant Marine, etc.) will be considered. Demonstrated success leading enterprise-level IT initiatives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. Strong financial acumen related to IT project budgeting and cost control. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines. Collaborative leadership style with a passion for developing people and teams. Strategic thinker who can translate complex problems into actionable solutions. Comfortable operating at both tactical and strategic levels. Work Environment
Hybrid, working in a typical office environment. Work is dynamic. Sitting is required most of the time; however, walking and standing are frequently required. Visual acuity is required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data, viewing computer terminals, and reading documents, reports, and emails. Approximately 20% of travel includes working internationally and aboard our cruise ships. Work Conditions
The position is full-time and may require additional work outside regular business hours. The position will be at Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection’s Headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The ability to travel internationally is a must, and a valid passport and work authorization are required for the United States.
