Merchandising Manager, Hyacinth House
Location: Washington, D.C.
Salary: Competitive salary and benefits package based on qualifications; classified as full-time salaried; exempt and not eligible for overtime.
Reports to: Caroline Thomas, Senior Director of Buying
Travel: Occasional travel required
Tuckernuck is seeking a Merchandising Manager to support our Hyacinth House product strategy, merchandising process, strategic creative initiatives, product development, consumer reporting and strengthen internal department cross functionality and communication. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to self-motivate and drive initiative, while having a deep understanding of the Hyacinth House brand and customer. He or she will be an extremely efficient administrative professional who is incredibly detail oriented, deadline driven, highly organized, flexible and reliable. This person will have impeccable follow through and demonstrate ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment where teamwork is key!
Core Responsibilities
Own the end-to-end on site merchandising for Hyacinth House alongside the merchandising team, ensuring brand visibility across site collections, edits, and PDPs to drive engagement and conversion.
Collaborate with the Senior Merchant and Logistics teams to align weekly/monthly receipt flows with publishing cadence with content and marketing initiatives.
Ensure PDP accuracy through daily audits and manage updates related to imagery, copy, pricing, linking, and product specs.
Ensure the copy team creates engaging copy for the brand as well as accurate product information.
Generate reviews for product that illustrates garment details and increase conversion
Manage YOTPO reviews and customer feedback, identifying themes to inform merchandising and development decisions
Brand Marketing & Growth Initiatives
Assist with storytelling and positioning efforts in partnership with Marketing, Editorial, and PR teams—driving product placements in emails, social media, events, and pop-ups.
Partner with Marketing on monthly email features, influencer campaigns, and seasonal marketing themes that elevate Hyacinth House visibility.
Collaborate with Growth Marketing to track ROAS, CVR, and CTR across email, SMS, and social, optimizing based on performance insights.
Collaborate with Editorial to refine brand positioning, ensuring SEO relevance and consistency across channels.
Retail & Omnichannel Strategy
Support in-store product strategies with Senior Director of Buying and Senior Merchant through regular touchpoints with retail teams, store visits, and floorset recommendations based on product performance.
Present product knowledge and assortment insights for both online and brick-and-mortar retail (NYC & DC) in regular cross-functional meetings.
Consumer Insights & Buying Support
Analyze Shopify data on conversion, geo trends, cart behavior, and purchasing patterns to identify assortment gaps and inform buy strategies.
Present key consumer insights and investment opportunities during monthly Order Reviews and seasonal Buy Reviews.
Build and maintain strategic relationships across Marketing, Buying, Styling, and Creative teams to align on seasonal themes, assortment direction, and business priorities.
Product Development & Creative Strategy
Prepare quarterly reports on silhouette, color, and category trends to guide development; support creation of seasonal moodboards in collaboration with creative and buying teams.
Track performance and cross-brand purchasing to inform styling and accessory recommendations for full-look merchandising on site.
Styling & Content Production
Liaise with Styling and Production teams to ensure cohesive creative execution; communicate styling objectives tied to seasonal vision and brand strategy further highlighting “the why” behind the product creation
Manage reshoot and photo editing requests for in-stock inventory, optimizing visual presentation for conversion
Minimum Qualifications
At least 5 years of brand management and or product merchandising experience
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Passion for the Tuckernuck brand and interested in retail/ fashion
Obsessed with details and constantly double checking
Motivated by hitting internal and external deadlines
Problem-solver with a proactive nature
Flexible and adaptable with willingness to support other departments
Outstanding communication and organizational skills
