GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Marketing Intern will support Butler Tech's Marketing & Recruitment team in creating engaging content and materials that strengthen the district's brand. Interns will gain hands-on experience in areas such as video production, graphic design, photography, and social media, while also assisting with marketing events and projects.
Interns may choose a single or multiple focus area(s) -
Video Production ,
Graphic Design ,
Photography , or
Social Media
- based on their interests and skills. Interns will be exposed to a variety of marketing tasks, this focus will allow them to build deeper expertise in their chosen area.
Interns may work up to 15 hours a week based on projects and capacity with flexibility around class schedules. The internship will begin in the Fall 2025 semester and may continue into Spring semester and/or summer. At least one in-person workday at the Butler Tech Central Office is required each week.
Candidates selected to interview will be asked to provide a portfolio of work samples to showcase their skillsets.

RESPONSIBILITIES : Responsibilities will vary based on the intern's chosen focus area, but may include:
Video Production : Capture and edit footage, assist with video shoots, and produce short-form video for platforms such as TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. Graphic Design : Design graphics for digital platforms, print materials, and internal communications while maintaining brand consistency. Photography : Capture and edit high-quality photos for use across marketing materials and digital platforms. Social Media : Draft captions, schedule posts, assist with content strategy, and monitor engagement. Additional responsibilities for all interns may include:
Helping organize and maintain the marketing media library (photos, videos, and design assets). Providing on-site support at events, including photography, videography, and social media coverage. Participating in brainstorming sessions and contributing creative ideas to strengthen marketing campaigns. |
QUALIFICATIONS
Interest in Marketing, Graphic Design, Digital Media, or a related field. Foundational knowledge of design software (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign preferred). Basic photography and videography skills, including familiarity with editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Lightroom, etc.). Strong attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills. Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork abilities. Ability to balance multiple projects and meet deadlines. Portfolio of work preferred.
