Summary:

The Student Office Assistant (SOA) supports the front office in the Department of Math & Statistics by assisting the front office staff with various tasks in a busy department setting. The SOA plays a vital role in helping the Senior Administrative Assistant foster student engagement within the department, along with faculty support. The SOA performs clerical and administrative tasks, such as creating and maintaining spreadsheets, making copies, scanning documents, answering phones; and logistics related to event planning: creating and distributing event flyers, organizing materials and food preparation; contributing content for department social media accounts; and other tasks as needed. This position reports to the Senior Administrative Assistant within the Math & Statistics department.

Responsibilities: Responsible for the set up and clean up of weekly colloquiums. Distribution of event flyers. Logistical support for special events. Assisting in providing administrative support in the front office: scanning documents, distributing mail, replenishing supplies in the kitchen area and copy rooms, answering phones. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

Part-Time. Scheduled hours are up to 5 hours per week. Duties are performed on campus, in the Department of Math & Statistics. Must be available to work on Tuesday afternoons. Salary Range:

$17.95 - $18.50 per hour. Required Education and Experience:

Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at AU. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Dependable and responsible. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Other Details
