KPMG is currently seeking a Director to join our Enterprise Contracting Center: State & Local Government Team organization.

Responsibilities

  • Apply a comprehensive, specialist level knowledge of contract lifecycle management to set and drive a service management-centric strategy for the Enterprise Contracting Center (ECC) contracts team(s); ensure consistent application of guidance in providing advice or other solutions to ECC and business-area professionals; ensure contracting processes are followed by contract managers per business, Risk Management, Independence, and Office of General Counsel requirements.
  • Strategic and proactive responsibility to significantly contribute to ECC goals by participating in the development and execution of tactical plans that improve client service, create incremental client value, reduce costs, and enable process re-engineering.
  • Direct or be a primary contributor on multiple key projects, programs and initiatives requiring advanced contract management knowledge and negotiation skills; make independent decisions on high-risk and complex matters; identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to innovation through enhancements that create client value, process efficiencies, and/or enhanced quality.
  • Regularly interface and build collaborative relationships with partners and professionals to champion ECC's value to the firm; engage with senior leaders at client organizations to provide a positive first impression of the firm.
  • Establish credibility as a key advisor by offering advice and recommendations to significantly improve client service based on in-depth understanding of clients' long-term business needs; assess and mitigate professional practice/regulatory risks; provide guidance on intellectual property protection and critical terms to enable leadership decisions.
  • Provide active coaching, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing with junior staff to advance their career development; manage and review their work product; contribute to planning for short-term needs; may have people-management responsibility for a mid-sized to small team of entry-level through intermediate-level professionals.

Qualifications

  • Minimum ten years of recent, extensive experience in contract management, procurement, and/or deal desk leading negotiation of complex contracts and overseeing a team of contract management professionals, preferably in the professional services industry in Federal, SLG or commercial contracting domains.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university; master's degree preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent programs, applying expertise to make concrete decisions that impact the firm; strong knowledge of contract lifecycle management practices and the ability to understand legal matters.
  • Exceptional verbal/written communication, collaboration, negotiation, and influencing skills to lead a customer-service and teamwork-driven environment; ability to direct, motivate and empower others to achieve organizational goals; ensure efficient allocation of resources across multiple functions; drive execution of strategic initiatives.
  • Certified in Contract Management, such as NCMA, preferred.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future. Availability of benefits depends on eligibility and job classification.

California Salary Range: $155,000 - $311,000. This range is provided for California applicants. Salary offers will be determined based on factors including skills, experience, and market considerations.
