American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg-Oncology position, requiring an active RN license, BLS, and NIHSS certifications with night shift and float requirements.Job Details•Position is in an acute care hospital setting on a 31-bed Med/Surg-Oncology unit,•Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with diagnoses such as stroke, CHF, COPD, cellultis, AFib, MI post-ICU, behavioral cases, some telemetry, and surgical overflow,•Night shift position with 12-hour shifts, every other weekend required,•Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4-5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights,•Uses Epic EMR for charting,•Expected to float to other Med/Surg units and ER holds as needed,•No on-call responsibilities,•Charge nurse and nurse aide support on each shift,•Block scheduling may be considered if unit needs are met,•No specific scrub color required,Job Requirements•Active state or compact (NLC) RN license required at time of consideration,•Minimum of 2 years RN experience required,•Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required,•Experience with titrating drips such as Lasix and Heparin preferred,•Prefer experience with trach and BiPAP, but not required,•Must provide a copy of driver's license for consideration,•Two professional references required: one supervisor from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 years,•Cannot have been employed full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit in the past year,•Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility,Additional Information•Core staff manage chemotherapy; travelers are not expected to administer chemo,•No oncologist provider currently in-house during the day,•RN is not required to interpret telemetry strips as monitor techs are available,•Unit has a strong team culture and is family oriented, providing support for travelers,•1-2 shifts of unit-specific orientation are provided,•BiPAP and trach support for stable patients is required,•Holiday coverage is expected as needed,•First-time travelers are welcome to apply,•All requested time off (7 days or less per 13-week contract) must be provided up front; additional RTO will not be approved,),•hash,:• ,
