Pay Information $2,806 per week About The Position Job Title: Operating Room Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 20 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8 or 10 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room experience License: RN License (ND or Compact) Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Experience in a large hospital with 250 plus beds and level 1 trauma status - Experience working in an acute facility with 15 or more Operating Room suites - Experience with robotics, preferably DaVinci - Strong experience in general and ENT surgical cases Description: The Operating Room Nurse will fill in as Charge Nurse as needed. When serving in this role, the billing rate will increase as specified. Must have previous level 1 trauma and Charge Nurse experience. Candidates must be able to provide this information in their application paperwork. Cannot take any travelers living within a 60-mile radius of the facility. Local travel rates will be applicable for those traveling from 60 to 80 miles away. Experience in outpatient centers will not be a match for this position. The nurse will be responsible for circulating in the operative setting. This includes sterile prepping of surgical sites, catheter insertion, opening sterile supplies, and positioning patients for surgery. The nurse will document patient care within an electronic record and utilize operating room equipment as directed. Experience with general surgical cases, GYN, urology, laparoscopic, and some neuro/ortho procedures is required. Specific licensures and certifications required include BLS. The shift involves rotating to a PM shift with all staff, possibly requiring staying late based on cases running over. Call will be required one to two days per week and every three to four weekends. Nurses may float to other departments if needed. The department includes 25 Operating Room suites and manages an average of 75 to 100 cases per day. The nurse-to-patient ratio in this unit is 1 to 1. All clinicians must badge in and out of the facility. Scrub color will be provided and is specified as Ceil Blue. Candidates must note if they have ever worked for the organization before. If a candidate has previously worked with the organization, they must have an end date six months prior to their application date.
